  1. Excellent video about the state system in Spain. Having lived in Tenerife for many years i find the system also worthless. The Spanish are not really known for their hard work and ethics, and i feel it will take them many years to change.

  2. I entirely agree with your Nicks comments about Gandia and I did see the latest A Place in the Sun program. This was particularly interesting as it was probably the first such program since the crisis.

    I think the area needs to be promoted at a higher level to attract buyers who can bring more value to the area, after all as you you say the area is delightful and could compare with much higher value areas such as Javea and even the Costa del Sol.

    One of the major problems is that we do not seem to have agents and support services which are aimed at the mid to high end of the market. Most of the examples on the program were at the bottom end of the market. The Spanish agents locally do not seem focused on either the mid to higher range of properties and even worse they don’t seem focused on the foreign buyers at all.

    Builders and agents should be properly regulated and then promoted by the authorities. We have a crisis, prices will be much lower but all the natural advantages of the area remain.
